Pauley Perrette: A New Chapter
Pauley Perrette, known for her iconic role as Abby Sciuto on NCIS, has been clear about her decision to retire from acting. In 2020, after more than two decades in the entertainment industry, she announced her departure from Hollywood. Four years later, she remains steadfast in her choice and expresses no desire to return to acting.
Finding Authenticity in Life
Reflecting on her past, Pauley acknowledges the gratitude she feels for the opportunities her career provided. “I’m not ungrateful for the benefits that it gave to me,” she stated in a recent interview. However, she emphasizes her evolution as a person, stating, “I want to be here for it—the good and the bad and the painful. I want to be me all the time.” This pursuit of authenticity reflects a deep personal growth that she has experienced since leaving the spotlight.
Safety and Well-Being
Pauley Perrette’s exit from acting also stems from her concerns regarding her safety on set, particularly following allegations against her former co-star. In her own words, she expressed, “I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me.” This fear influenced her decision, steering her toward projects that she deemed safer, like her appearance in the pilot for the CBS show, Broke.
Today, Pauley is focused on her passions and interests that provide a more substantial source of fulfillment in her life, such as documentaries. She seeks truth and authenticity, stating, “Going back to being an actor would be taking away from this life of true authenticity that I’m living 100% of the time.” With this commitment, she continues to embrace her new life away from Hollywood.
