Embracing an Earlier Start
Savannah Guthrie, the well-known host of the Today Show, has always been an early riser. However, she has decided to take her routine a step further by setting her alarm even earlier. During the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Gala on October 10, Guthrie discussed the significance of starting the day on a positive note. She stated, “How you start your day really matters.” This mantra sets the tone for her morning.
The Importance of Healthy Choices
In her approach, Savannah emphasizes making the first choices of the day intentional. She shared that she begins with a glass of water and a prayer to center herself. Additionally, she has incorporated a bit of exercise into her morning ritual. “You’re going to be shocked, but I’ve started setting my alarm even earlier to do just a little bit of exercise,” she revealed. This shift highlights a growing trend of prioritizing both physical and mental well-being.
A Shift in Perspective on Fitness
For Guthrie, her morning fitness routine has evolved beyond merely wanting to look good. She expresses that it is now more about nurturing a positive state of mind. She noted, “The idea is whereas all my life I was looking to exercise with a mission, it’s not about that. It’s just move a little every day; sweat a little every day. It’s really good for your mental health.” This perspective reflects a deeper understanding of how exercise can foster mental clarity and resilience as one faces the day ahead.
